ReGovern

Gender equality and inclusive governance in grassroots sport. Erasmus+ KA182-SPO · 2026–2027

ReGovern is a complementary Erasmus+ Mobility of Sport Staff project (KA182-SPO) coordinated by SportAktiv, running from September 2026 to August 2027.

Building directly on the experience gained through the ReFrame initiative, ReGovern aims to strengthen SportAktiv's organisational capacity in the field of good governance and gender equality within grassroots sport. Through a job shadowing mobility at Športna zveza Murska Sobota (Slovenia), SportAktiv's volunteers will observe and learn from established governance models that promote women's leadership and inclusive decision-making in sport organisations.

Key objectives include integrating gender-sensitive governance into SportAktiv's internal structures, acquiring practical tools to support women's participation in leadership roles, and sharing good practices with local grassroots sport clubs. The project will result in a Handbook of Gender Equality in Governance within Grassroots Sport Organisations — freely accessible to the wider sport community.

ReGovern strengthens gender equality and inclusive governance in grassroots sport through cooperation between SportAktiv, Croatia, as the sending organisation, and Športna zveza Murska Sobota, Slovenia, as the hosting organisation. Two SportAktiv representatives will undertake a five-day job-shadowing programme to learn about women's leadership, mentoring and participatory decision-making, adapting these practices to their organisation.

The project is co-funded by the European Union under Erasmus+ Key Action 1, KA182 – Mobility of sport staff.
